Kitty Lauman continues with Rangers training, gaining his confidence to allow her to rub a flag all over his body, on the ground then off of another horse. She also gets him to start leading and understanding all the new things that are expected of a gentle, respectable equine! • It would depend on if they were handle able or not when I started them. But my method works on domestics and mustangs alike. I am doing a new on line internet learning program were I am videoing each day with a two year old barely halter broke filly showing everything I do each day so you can see and learn how to get the same results. go to our website laumantraining to learn more about our interactive learning.

  • I also wanted to add. what do you advise me too do in order to gain her trust. And what should i do as far as letting her no that biting isn't exceptable.

  • @rockymarie100 I would really recommend getting our training DVD "From Wild to Willing". It takes you step by step in how to first touch a while horse and gain their trust. You can find our video on the Mercantile page of our website. laumantraining Thanks for asking! and good luck!

  • Question!!

What was ur scedual while working him??

Like was it everother day or every day??

  • Because it was a special competition I worked him every day for about 1 to 2 hours. In the 100 days he only had 2 days off. Normally I like to give my horses a couple of days off after 4 to 5 days of consistent training to help them relax between lessons.

  • So Ranger was wild? That is amazing how you have gotten so far in such little time. You are very smart and paitnet, and reward him well. Most horse people aren't the most pleasent, but I would love to meet you one day, you seem like a great lady.

  • Thank you for your nice comments! I train horses because I love them and love to show people what can be done when you work with a horse instead of against it! If you are ever in Central Oregon you will have to look us up! Kitty

  • Great video, nice tecnique with the long pole in lesson one....I have a 9 mo old filly TWH and a 7mo old Quarter horse colt, I try to work them at least 4 days a week ,I am mainly concerned with desenitizing and ground work for respect. So far so good , I can see results in both of them.Keep up the good work, where is Ranger as far as his training?...Good luck and great job

  • Something I was wondering about is that it seems sort of counter-intuitive to use the flag as a que for him to move off -- it seems like that would teach him to move away or shy away from similar objects, like flags or plastic bags.

  • Is that were he is kept? Does he go bezerk seperated from the herd?

  • I like your way of working with him. You're very quiet and gentle. And Ranger is a handsome boy.

  • SO HAPPY YOU LIVE IN MY STATE!!!!! MY hubby and I will come see ya'll when we are ready for a lifetime buddy!!! Xoxo

  • do you start horses that arent wild the same as you would one like this? or would it be a defferent starting method?

  • wow... hes a great looking horse! =D

  • He is so nice. What a great job you have done with him. I love the positive training.
