Great vid. I really enjoy learning all these techniques abou the mustang. Now I can routinely check my charging system before something may go bad.
Thanks!
Was up man, Im only 16 and restoring my first car (66 Mustang 200ci) and im trying to fire her up for the first time but im having an electrical issue. Every time i connect the battery, i will get lights in the cabin, but when I turn the key to start it, I just here a single click coming from the voltage regulator. Any ideas of whats wrong? Id love to hear back from ya, but anyway, thanks for all the vids

If its an Automatic transmission car, then I would look at the neutral safety switch being the possible cause. The starter motor and relay is also a common area too to look into. Thanks for watching the vid,s. Chris

Auotmoblies made before 1965 had Generators not alternators, do NOT try this procedure with your car if it still has a generator. Most 60s and 70s cars had an external voltage regulator like your car that has a generator. They were not built into the alternator. Good question!!, Thanks Chris
