    They obviously are taking care not to hurt their kitties while doing this - and I doubt they would do it often enough to cause serious stress. Though this might encourage people that aren't as considerate to torment their cats. Doing something a few times is annoying - but if it's constant it becomes torture. I know how that feels - because I was an usually small cute kid - so people just wanted to scoop me up and tease me affectionately all the time. After a while it gets you stressed.
