Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visits Wana and Tank - September 23, 2009

Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited field formations deployed in FATA and D.I. Khan. This day long trip included visits to Wana and Tank. This visit on third day of Eid-Ul-Fitr was in line with the rich military traditions of spending part of Eid holidays with the deployed troops. During this visit, COAS not only met with senior field commanders but also freely mixed with junior officers, JCOs / NCOs and soldiers. COAS appreciated the initiative of field military commanders to distribute special Eid packages in their respective areas, bought by the soldiers from their own salaries. He was also pleased to know that todate over 12000 Tons of rations have been distributed by the Army from the daily rations authorized to troops themselves. He lauded this spirit of sacrifice, which is in line with the old Muslim and Military traditions. During the visit, COAS was accompanied by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Masood Aslam. Although General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani has a similar name as of his predecessor i.e PERVAIZ, But unlike Pervaiz Musharaf He is popular in the masses and has won back the good will that always existed between Pak Army and People of Pakistan! This achievement is a General Kiyani's credit and undoubtedly he has proved himself to be the Best Army Chief Of The History Of Pakistan! We Love You Kiyani!
