@LuckyLokiLuko actually the film isn't truly adapted from the anime as the anime itself is an adaptation of the manga, which is in itself an adaptation of the novel. Therefore Shinobi, if an adaptation, is a book-to-movie adaptation which explains the condensed storyline of every book-to-movie adaptation...

Shouldn't there be a cubic shit-ton of blood all over the ground at 2:40? Regardless, this film was watchable, but nothing compared to the anime. Though it's difficult to take a story of about 26 episodes, containing close to 10 hours of footage, and condence it into a 1 1/2--2hour film.
