  • Please, pretty please, with sugar, whipped cream and cherries on top--pistols use a MAGAZINE, not a clip--don't call a pistol's magazine a "clip".

I know, I know...it's not a big deal and most people don't know the difference; but it just sounds better to use the more appropriate nomeclature.

Sorry, just being anal.... Great video!

  • @guns4good Yeah - I know (and have made an effort in later videos to correct this - this was the 1st video I recorded :) Bad habits from a lifetime of non-military firearms use. You'll also see that I have 2 AR-15 field-strip videos - I have an ex-Marine buddy that would cringe every time I called it a "gun" - the 2nd video was recorded largely to use correct the term of "rifle".

  • Do you have an issue with removing a full mag? I have the XD9-SC if the mag is loaded the mag release is a lot harder to press, if the mag is empty i do not have it issue. Have you heard of this issue?

  • The mag does release a lot harder when it is fully loaded. SA packs the rounds in pretty tight to get 13 rounds in the flush mag - as such the spring (as I'm sure you have noticed) has a lot of tension on it.

With the rounds compressed against the bottom of the slide, it puts extra pressure on the release mechanism. My Sig P220 has a similar release and behaves the same way when it is fully loaded.

I wouldn't really classify it as a problem - just the physics of the release.

  • @TheNewReign5 Your mom. ;)

  • This is my carry gun also. I use 16rd mags loaded with 100gr +P Cor-Bon Pow'Rball. Carry holster is a Blackhawk SERPA.

  • It's a magazine, not a clip.

  • I just got this pistol, hey what holster do you use? thanks

  • @GunNut12680 I wasn't being critical. You will notice that I said "not to pick on you" and I used the word "please" and "not trying to offend you" I'd say there are much more rude people on YOUTUBE than me wouldn't you?

I did enjoy the video. The thing about videos is that they can be planned before filming them, and if a mistake is made, they can be edited or re-filmed.

It would cause less confusion for those new to guns if they learn the correct terminology when watching these videos.

  • @romansten9 right we all know but its not important.its just a video...geez..if i had a dollar for everybody who said this id be richer lol.why cant we all just enjoy the vid without bein critical?

  • Nice video. Not to pick on you, but please don't call a mag (or magazine) a "clip." (it makes you look like a gun amateur) not trying to offend you, its just one of those things that people get wrong often, especially on TV and movies. (but I don't expect them to get things right because we all know that they are inaccurate) A basic rule of thumb: If it has a spring, you are most likely referring to a "magazine" not a clip.
