  • Enjoyed that ;) - quick point - they are not insectivorius. It was believed to be so but the insect fauna in their gut from early field studies was actually the pre-digested stomach contents of the amphibians that ribbons are known to prey on. Feeding a ribbon insects can actually lead to impaction/death in captivity.

  • @Fuggit I've seen them eating caterpillars and stuff, but yes, I forgot to mention they are heavy amphibian feeders, which would still make them affected by the water quality

  • He probably finds a lot more than what he puts up in his videos. He usually picks one species to focus on for each one. Herping so far this spring has been pretty good for me in the piedmont of NC. Keep up the good work dude. Great videos. You definately have me beat on variety!

  • @noonesperfect16 Yea I've seen 3 hognose snakes, 1 eastern coachwhip, 1 copperhead, like 30+ cottonmouths, and other stuff I've already filmed, I should make a herping video on that stuff though, It's definately gotten warmed up for snakes so they are on the move now

  • Could you make a video with a video with a rough green snake.

  • You Sir, are insane!! You have major Guts if you're will to pick up a snake, any snake at your age...what 18?? 20?? How old are you?? In this lighting you kind of look like a young Matt Dillon (Dally from outsiders). Third I am seriously jealous of your rural areas living in the suburbs of South Cali you don’t get snakes or any wild animals :'( OK that’s all :D

PS: You look waaaayyy cuter with short hair :D

  • Hey, what's your most productive way of finding snakes? Road cruising, flipping logs?

  • wat river is that

  • This snake is gonna be my first to film.

  • Very nice video, Brandon, I agree that the ribbon snake is really a very pretty snake. It's also good to see that you're still out and about doing the herping. Have fun my friend and do please be careful out there!
