My arrangement of "Those Were The Days." It was released on August 30, 1968. It was Mary Hopkin's debut single. It is credited to Gene Raskin, who put English lyrics to the Russian gypsy song "Dorogoi."
"Dorogoi dlinnoyu," ("Дорогой длинною"), written by Boris Fomin (1900-1948) with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevskii. It deals with reminiscence upon youth and romantic idealism. The first known recording of the song was by Alexander Vertinsky in the 1920's.
I hope that you enjoy my arrangement of this song!!! Please feel free to comment, and to "PLEASE RATE" the video..."THANKS!"

Photo source: The Internet. Some of the trolleys are from the early days of San Diego, Ca. (circa 1890's, and early 1900's) Some are from San Francisco, Ca., and Los Angeles, Ca. in the early days. Most of the color photos of the trolleys, (street cars), are from the "Orange Empire Railroad Museum" in Perris, California.

  • Wow! Your music skills, musicianship, and playing are spectacular. I am glad I found you on You Tube.

I have played organ, keyboards, and drums, etc., etc., etc., for over 50 years - can't play much anymore due to diabetes and strokes.

I was the keyboardist, organist, and drummer for a popular roick group in the 50's and 60's, before I decided to go to medical school.

    Excellent!
