i wish they would have adapted the double slap stand up bass to all their songs. that would have given all their music that real rockabilly sound.

Saw them way back in '83 or so . .they opened for Joan Jett at a club in Trenton NJ called King Tuts City Gardens . .they blew her off the stage . .they OWNED that night. Steve Berlin was playing sax for them pre Los Lobos days . . I went out and bought their album the next day . . they still cook.

Phil & Dave had a dream along with the 3 "cats" and a few others!we had need for some strong Rockabilly & they gave it to us!

I saw these guys at the Golden Bear inHuntington Beach, CA in the early 80's. Your're right - they were something else. They closed with this one and blew the amp out!

@jt123egypte Really? Ronnie Mack? The dude is a cartoon character as far as I'm concerned. Part of what made the Blasters great is the fact that they didn't play dress up or try to live in a time that is long gone. They just played basic, stripped down, no frills true American Rock n' Roll. No costume rockabilly.

The Blasters are performing LIVE in Philadelphia at The Trocadero Balcony on Sunday March 13th. Tickets available through Ticketmaster.
