This particular iron was from Walmart so it doesn't say the degrees on it...it gets hot, but not too hot. I've been curling my hair so long that I don't get burned, but my good pal Jen (who is on these films) burned my ear quite nicely in school. :) It takes practice controlling the iron. If you are new at it, try using a low heat setting and take your time. :)
