Formed in 1984, the short-lived Green River project would eventually split in 1988. Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, and Bruce Fairweather went on to join Mother Love Bone, while Mark Arm and former band drummer Steve Turner would form Mudhoney. Following the demise of Mother Love Bone, Gossard and Ament joined Pearl Jam while Fairweather ended up in Love Battery.
Released in 1990, the compilation of the full length Rehab Doll (1988) and the EP Dry as A Bone (1987) is a great Grunge album featuring all sorts of different styles of music, typical of Grunge in the late 80's. Unwind sounds much like a ZZ Top inspired southern hard rock track but offers the punk edge seen in almost all Grunge music released pre-1991.

Line-up:
Mark Arm vocals
Stone Gossard guitar
Bruce Fairweather - guitar
Jeff Ament bass
Alex Vincent drums

  • Finally some Green River!!

  • It's nice to hear bluesiness in a song, with copious amounts of Chuck Berry chords.....without it sounding like aerosmith or AC/DC.......I'm looking at you BuckCherry.

  • nice post! cheers mate :)
