  • I'm glad there are people like you, who take your time to post videos like this, to talk about your stories to help others. I'm openly gay, and am happy with it. one of my friends is as well, but he totally regrets it, not because of his parents, but because of people at school and around in his community. We both live in small towns, and the reaction to each of us coming out is totally opposite. I wish there was some way to help him, he just needs to figure out what to do.

  • @whitelawnick Thank you. :)

  • I wish the whole world was accepting and as loving as you seem to be. I'm a trans-guy, and I can't come out or transition yet because of my family. They are pretty homophobic, and put trans people in that group also (wouldn't help that their daughter is a gay man inside, I think that would be a double whammy for them).

  • @LizzieA03 I just figure that if I expect people to be accepting of me then I need to be accepting of everyone as well, otherwise that makes me an absolute hypocrite.

And I don't envy you. I think trans men and women have it harder than anyone. Most of my friends that are trans had to come out to their parents two times, and that I can't imagine because once was plenty for me. Just be strong and be the person you need to be. In the end, nothing can be more important than your own happiness. :)

  • I'm so glad you made this video because all the coming out videos that I have seen they all had pretty good situations so I'm glad that there is someone that understands my situation I am a 17 year old girl and I came out in April it was awful the reaction but thank god for Ellen and good examples on t.v. To keep me going thanks so much

  • @ILUVELLEN53 That's a big part of why I wanted to make it. I just want everyone who had stories like mine to know that they aren't alone, and that you can be hopeful about it. :)

  • I have to disagree with you.

I have zero tolerance for "parents" who suddenly turn on their children like that. Zero.

Why the fuck should you (or anyone) have to become the mature one/the parent????

No. I say if you (meaning parents) are gonna act like pieces of shit mental cases then "bye fuckin bye" and call me when or if you decide to treat me with 100% respect and acceptance.

But I agree with not coming out if you're young and stuck living with demented parents.

  • I love every one of all of your videos, can you guys PLEASE do like a fun topic next week like which of the other girls on the channel you would:

    -take on a date

    -do the amazing race with

    -hangout with for a day

    -be roommates with

-which of the girls is most your type?

something like that, something fun, I think you ladies need a fun week!

  • my dad sucks. he left my mom for another woman, converted to catholicism and now he's discriminating against me for being gay. he says he's fine with it but he would prefer if I married a man and had lots of kids. WTF? that's not going to happen. he's dumb. sorry. just had to say it.

  • I am so scared to come out to my parents. They...well my dad is very homophobic and I mean i want to try to tell them but they might not be understanding and i dont know if it wld be right for me. I mean my mom kind of knowz. my sister walked in on me and my girlfriend but i didnt know my cousin told me that she did. She is kind of awkward around me..what should i do?

  • i can relate in october my mom found a gay pride bracelet and i couldn't avoid the conversation so i told her i was gay and she started yelling and talking about school. i was like school has nothing to do with it and i haven't changed. i was gay long before i told her. i had to be the mature one and understanding on about the whole situation.

  • technology always fucks everything up! My sister found out about it when I still had myspace a few years ago and posted it for like 2 seconds. Now it's not really spoken about but I'm pretty sure my whole family knows.

  • can u message me about this video please

  • how i wish i can send this video to your parents

so they see your point of view, your thoughts and opinions

maybe then they can open their eyes to see what beautiful daughter they have,

  • Your dad should have opened the gun case.

  • Awesome video!

My friend and I are giving it a go - check out our new lesbain advice channel :)

We'll try our best to help you out :)

  • It's just,

The moment you tell your parents it all becomes about THEM.

"I" WILL HAVE NO REAL GRAND CHILDREN.

"I" HAVE THE EMBARRASSED OF DEALING WITH THIS AND TELLING PEOPLE.

It's like? HELLO? I AM THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN HIDING AND DYING INSIDE.

  • I came out to my mom last night, she goes.

    "You're full of shit."

    Thanks mom.
