A review demo of the Bugera V22 valve/tube amp. The amp has 3 12AX7 preamp valves and 2 EL84 output valves, with a pentode/triode output option to reduce output power by 40% (22w or 13w effectively). The demo is with a MIM Fender Classic Player 60s Strat and a Gibson Les Paul standard faded (with burstbucker pros). The guitar is going straight into the amp in all examples. I recorded straight to laptop with webcam and a Samson C01u USB condenser mike to give acceptable sound quality. The amp isn't cranked, just working at home level but still gets a nice tone I think.

  • Bought the Vox VT-50 a few weeks ago, and returned it a few days later. If it's not tube, it won't sound like tube. Modelling amps are just not for me, and I don't even consider myself an experienced guitarist. I am very close to ordering this Bugera, but I've now realized that there's no Line Out or Direct Out!! It'd be nice if the amp had some recording capabilities. Anyone have any info on this? Is there any way I can still record with this amp without the required outputs?

  • @MrNatt

    You can use a microphone......

I've ordered a Weber Mini Mass attenuator which is available with a line out, that way you get the sound of the amp cranked but at a low volume. This amp sounds good at low volume but with everything set to 7 it sounds unbelievable. Unfortunately neither my ears or the neighbours will tolerate that so the attenuator should help.

  • Hi thanks for your comments. Haven't played a valve senior but there is a nice review of it on YouTube from a German music shop. Apparently the spring reverb sounds terrible. The v22 is probably better in the cleans and has very usable gain, the reverb is fine. I would buy it again as I don't see much competition for it at the price. Looked at egnater rebel 30 as well but not overly impressed and it's 3 x the price of v22!

  • good video. showed me the versitility and special features. NICE!! XD
