ISI - The Secret Government of Pakistan

ISI - Inter-Services Intelligence was created in 1948 in the backdrop intelligence failure during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 to improve military intelligence sharing between the armed forces of Pakistan. In the late 1950s, the then President of Pakistan Ayub Khan changed ISI job from collecting external inelegance to monitoring domestic politics. Despite the failure of inelegance in Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, the roll of ISI continued expending in domestic politics apparently due to uprising in East Pakistan (Bangladesh) and in Balochistan in late 1960s and 1970s. Afghan War during 1980s gave ISI a greater access to resources and money and that turned it to the most powerful organisation in Pakistan. Now after years of presence in the domestic politics and access to financial resources, ISI has become a state within a state.
