Pandit Sanjoy Bandopadhyay - Amazing Purvi

Purvi is one of the major ragas of Hindustani music system. This is an early-evening raga. But, surprisingly, this raga is not receiving enough attention from the present musicians. This is precisely the reason that I thought of sharing this performance with all.

The concert was arranged in the open, and it was a special day. Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture was celebrating the 'First day of The Mothers Arrival at Pondicherry'. I had Subhankar Banerjee on the tabla to give life to my music. He was very musical and lively as always.

Purvi takes komal re, komal dha and both madhyama-s.
