グッドデザインエキスポ2008にて、三洋電機は「GAIA」デザインコンセプトの下で開発された豊富な製品ラインを展示しました。中でも、「Eneloop」ブランドの­製品ラインは、2007年度グッドデザイン金賞を受賞しました。
「Eneloop」充電池や「Wii」リモコン用ステーションの充電を行うソーラーチャージャーなどが展示されました。
三洋電機は、「Eneloop」製品の生産拡大や充電池の広範な普及に伴い、電池の1年あたり生産量は現在の400億個から2020年までに半減し、100万トンの二酸化­炭素削減にもつながるとしています。
また、洗濯機製品ライン「AQUA」も展示されました。オゾンを注入した水で油汚れを洗浄する「オゾンすすぎ」、10分のドライウォッシュで衣服の殺菌・脱臭・洗浄を行う­「エアウォッシュ3」、使用済みの風呂水にオゾンを注入して浄化し、衣服の洗濯に再利用できる「アクアループダイレクト」など、環境保護機能が数多く搭載されており、一度­の洗濯で使用する水道水の量を一般的な洗濯機の174リットルから7リットルにまで節約することができます。
