That's right, the light bridge just helps line the cubes up more nicely which makes the bridge more stable in case your timing on firing that last portal is too early and they start to drop.

No. You can see when he pushes the button that opens the door, the light bridge goes away also.

Link the button that opens the door to a flip panel on the other end of the bridge so that way when the door opens the end of the bridge's wall goes black canceling the portal. This way you force the person to use some other way to solve it then the bridge to cross.

Maybe I'm not understanding this, but couldn't you just use the light bridge to get across? I mean, it looks neat with the cubes but I don't really see the point.
