On January 11 2008, Muhammed cartoon publisher Ezra Levant had to appear before the Alberta Human Rights Commission to defend himself against a complaint by Syed Solhawardy of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada accusing him of "false depiction of my Prophet", inciting "violence, hate and discrimination" and causing "unbearable stress, humiliation and insult for my family and me".

As for Canada's foreign image, have you considered how damaged Canada's image has been by these out-of-control HR kangaroo courts? So some societies steeped in superstition and ignorance may be less willing to buy Canadian products? That is a much lower price than was paid by previous generations for our right of freedom of speech.
