Cave story - Hell speedrun - 2.33.6

This is my final speedrun. I finally learned to get balloses 3rd form on one lap, and that saved somewhat 7 seconds. Overall this is for me a pretty perfect, and i think i can't make this any better. Just over 16 seconds slower than the world record and probably the second best time (i haven't seen any better time anywhere).

I think your only big mistake that threw you behind (of the record, of course) was using your nemisis on Heavy Press.. glad you switched but you really shoulda had your missles ready, that and fixing the rest of the minor issues will add at least 11 seconds :D

@TheSteel107 I do that on purpose. If I just use missiles and only misssiles, I will have too few to fight Ballos with almost quaranteed. The record run uses the absolute minimum ammount of them when he kills Ballos' final form. If you look very closely at that video, he shoots the missiles at really precise intervals to do the maximum damage (no idea how that works). I've tried killing the last form with the same ammount but I just can't do it.

@TheSteel107 (continued in a new reply because out ot characters) What I always do is I start of killing Heavy Press with Nemesis and then finish it off with a few missiles. That record run is absolutely pristine state-of-art run (if it is legit), perfected in almost every way possible, and that is one area where I can't compete. As of right now I've put off speedrunning this game (couple years ago already), with my personal best around 2:27, which I doube I can ever beat.

How do you take out the final phase of Ballos so quickly with the Nemesis? Whenever I try to do that, it's not fast enough and I get killed by his orbiting balls. Maybe my fingers just aren't fast enough!

How the hell is there a run 16 seconds better than this? You pointed out a few mistakes, but none of them looked like they added more than a split second.

@KinataKnight General "fastness" and agility. I just pointed out the obvious and blatant mistakes. The 16 seconds faster time isn't confirmed as completely legit and in fact I'm quite sure it utilises turbo controller. Fastest time I know is about 10 seconds faster than this (available on youtube). My personal record was couple of years ago, something around 2:27. Currently the fastest save file I have says 2:29'6, I probably won't be able to get lower than that.

I must REALLY suck at this game. I never have more than 30 HP after King Press, and Ballos' first form wrecks me to the point I have to play it uber safe for the rest of the battle. It took me 10 minutes to beat this place, but like a million and a half tries. o o

Is the brick falling section a set pattern, or is it random each time? That I find to be the hardest part of the stage (Ballos being MUCH HARDER, clearly.)

@SuperCnZ I think that might have something to do with why they changed the name to "Sacred Gronds" in the Nintendo versions, despite this level being far from sacred.
