  • There are running backs who are now in the NFL Hall of Fame who were not the talent that Billy Sims was.

  • What is sad is that his knee injury back then wasn't fixable, but now its routine..Billy was an awesome runner with great speed and agility. I love "All Day" Adrian, but for 30 years ago...Billy was WAY ahead of his time. He could have been the greatest ever.

  • For a 4.65-.7 / 40 guy, he was a damned productive and exciting running back.

  • This is good! :D i got my football signed by him :) and this still good without the musc :P

  • I fell in love with the 'bone when I watched Sophomore Billy Sims and the Sooners go into Columbus OH to beat the Buckeyes. I was in HS at the time and had a subscription to Sports Illustrated. Sims appeared on the cover next week, flying over Buckeye lineman.

  • I'm still pissed at Charles White for stealing Billy's 2nd Heisman.....

  • "There he goes" ..... how many times did I say that when Billy wore a Sooners jersey? Billy was so exciting to watch, I still love #20. Thank you Billy for all the wonderful memories you created on gameday!

  • Too bad he had the knee injuries, what an excellent RB he was. He did churn out a few great years w/Detroit. I remember being bummed because Green Bay drafted Georgia Tech/RB Eddie Lee Ivery, and I was stoked that GB finally had a great back. Unfortunately, he got injured in the 1st game on his 3rd carry, out for the year and he injured the knee again in 1981 in the 1st game. So, I never got to see Sims and Ivery go head to head. Sims was the better back though, no doubt.

  • I was so happy the Lions drafted him!
