'karwane hayat' was made in 1933-34.Adventure movie featuring Saigal as the wild Pervez, heir to the throne of Kascand. In protest at the marriage with the princess (Rajkumari) of neighbouring Bijapore arranged by his mother (Zutshi) and the vizir (Hamid), he leaves and joins a band of traveling qypsies where Zarina (Rattan Bai) falls in love with him. The bad Tikkim, who wants to marry the princess himself, has her kidnapped by the qypsies. In the qypsy camp, Pervez sees her as a dancing girl. original music was directed by mihikiran bhattacharya though on the disc it is hown as timir baran. This is the only song in which his voice slightly quiveers when hing .meri kismat mey likhi hai' towards the end of the song.

It is very interesting that you say that KLS voice quiveers when he sings "Mere kismet .." .. In fact I hear this song specially for the way in which he says that ... when you hear it closely, it isintentional. When I heard it first time ... I slipped two hear beats. I have heard this song a zillion time. One cannnot sing "me re" like KLS has sung ... his feeling when he sang is quite different ... you should have lost something special, to really make these songs touch your soul !!! Thanks !!

@farooq30th Ahmed Shujah Pasha, famous story and screenplay writer who wrote many classic films in India and Pakistan. He was father of famous Pakistani producer/director Anwar Kamal Pasha who directed Qatil, Sarfrosh, Gumnam etc. All these films are written by Ahmed Shujah Pasha. On Sohrab Modi request he wrote story of film Waris (Talat Mehmood Suraiya) in 1954 though at that period he migrated to Pakistan. He also wrote many novels.
