I always show the finished product when it comes to my vintage record player restorations...So I decided to show what most of them normally start off like for a change. This is the first in a series of three videos I'll be making about this Vintage machine...Thank You! :)

  • Great stuff - how did I miss it until today? Never mind!

Superb player (or will be). I agree - what would be the fun if nothing needed doing to it? My Hacker is still waiting to be done - trouble is I keep buying players and getting so excited about them that they end up jumping the queue!

I found a lovely(?) old Fidelity with a BSR UA8 deck (and very warped mat) on Sunday at the boot for £10 - works OK, amazingly but will be better after a tinker!

  • @pyestudiocolour I'm the same as you Neil...I've got a pile of them...Some I've fixed and just need putting together but others seem to jump the queue...haha!!!

    I love UA8's in any machine...What a Bargain!!!

When I got this Hacker I also got an Ecko with a BSR deck in it...Bit of a strange one as the power is switched on by the automatic selector and it say's "Pye of Cambridge on it"...I haven't even had chance to plug it in yet...The turntable is seized though...Might have a look later...haha!

  • You've got your work cut out for you with that one! I'll be looking forward to the rest.

  • @727JeffN Thanks Jeff...We'll see what happens! :)

  • Doc, I know exactly what this is going to look like when it's finished (and sound like for that matter) - we all do........ Absolutely b....y amazing!!

  • @IVORIESMAN I'm trying...This ones really been messed about by somebody though...Quite a few critical parts missing!

I may have to borrow a few bits from your SP25MKIII to complete my restoration...haha!!!

It should turn out ok (I hope)

    Thanks for commenting Joe! :)
