  • Another reason people use power heads is to eliminate "dead spots" in your fish tank. For example I had a power head aimed at a place where I found waste was collecting and not being filtered up. That way the waste was pushed into the filter and kept my tank clean :-)

  • @X666X666 maybe to push your waste out the filter

  • dickhead dont put your power head in basin...........

there is possibility of contamination with soap............i alredy did that and lost many fish.

  • would there be any point using one of these i na tropical tank?

  • How loud is the new evolution model?

  • 24"x12"x20" fot, is it good for me?

    thx

  • I have 2 large hang on back filters and 1 fluval filter on a 55 gallon african tank, there is alot of water movement and the water quality is excellent, I would reccomend more filtration personally as opposed to powerheads. Just my oppinion

  • No. Aslong as you have a good water flow for example a hang on back filter. Or abnything that keeps the water flowing. The Reasons why I have a power head is because of extra gas changing within the water so lots of air in the water and also it shoots up the debry to teh filter.
