Mystery Creature "Foxaroo" Now Spotted in Wisconsin - August 30, 2011

Identical looking critter was spotted earlier this month, August 2011, in Maryland. See here:

"People in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood are trying to identify an animal found in their neighborhood. Charmaine Ranic saw the creature about 3:00 a.m. in the morning during her paper route. She says, "It's weird looking. If you saw it up close it's weird. A combination of three animals, maybe more animals for all I know."

Last Saturday, Ranic was traveling with her family along Ellen and KK roads in the Bay View neighborhood and saw it again. Family member Benicio Bordas saw the animal too. "I just saw like an animal sitting there. It looked like a deer. Kinda, but when I looked at it it had a long tail."

Ranic parked the car and took pictures. She says the animal was rather disturbing, because it looked like it was starving."

They go on to say that it is just a fox with mange which I, for one, am not buying...

also, tell me how does a fox getting mange suddenly endow it with kangaroo-like hopping abilities and an abnormally long tail?

did they find this cause i live in bay view and i seen it once when i was walking my dog and i picked my dog up and ran home cause i dont want my dog to catch mange so does anyone know if this fox got caught or is it still running loose

If you notice this animal has a pattern on it's tail, with a foxy look to the shape of it's head and ears. This is a sickly Ring-tail cat. Look it up at "mammals of the world ring-tail cat," for a closer look at a healthy one. I used to see them all of the time in the hiil country just outside of San Antonio.

That is so sad... Imagine what that poor little animal is set to potentially face very soon, with the very cold Wisconsin fall approaching... :( I hope someone can catch the little one and keep him safe and warm indoors, until it's fur grows back... I wish society cared enough to try to stop diseases like mange from spreading to wild animals, as well as finding a way to cure the existing cases. Their fur is the #1 essential key to their survival.  So sad that they ever have to suffer at all. :(
