After 3 training session, it is one of my first practising matches. I am the person wearing grey khaki on the right with absolutely ectasic movement and insane behavior after each point:)) Yeah, not a proper one since I found it quite difficult to apply techniques into the real game. However, it is lots of fun and entertainmemt to me. At the end of the video there are some pictures of the club which is in University of York

  • the guy on the right has a tendency to cover target area with his left hand..

  • Keep working on it dude I have been fencing 3 years and fence foil and saber, both comp. Your footwork is a little slow and I must say your sword is bent to hell also try to make simple movements not just going at the guy like "OMG IT'S REBBECA BLACK!" You know what I mean? >.< But just keep practiceing and you have GREAT potential

  • For your third practice I would say that you are pretty good you just have to work on your footwork more so that you can take less energy to do simple actions, which in turn will allow you to be a better fencer. A little tip though is to just do adances and retreats across the strip to build more muscle and in turn muscle memory

  • One thing I noticed is that when your in basic position, your basically standing. The reason thats bad is because it takes up time if you have to bend your legs then lunge, also, they might see it coming. I would ask your instructor to say "jump" randomly through your practice until you are doing it naturally.

  • Just parry reposte if he parrys disengage it... Simple

  • Not so bad for only three training sessions of experience. Keep fencing, it's wicked fun.

Also keep practicing the basics. Try fencing without using any blade contact. That will improve your footwork so much. Also try making yourselves do push ups every time you hit off target. I had to do that at practice today... needless to say I've been working on my point control.

  • Sort out your en garde. Your footwork needs practice. Your rear arm should be in a line with your sword arm. Stop crossing your arms in front of your body.

  • Hehe. Keep fencing.

You seem quick, but your (and the other guy) footwork is too slow. But I'm sure you've been told that.
