  • @mellynumerounoo It's not worth arguing with you about it. You like Jessica Simpson and I have no problem with that. When I see a video that says "high note," though, I expect to hear high notes.

  • @CalJennings The term "whistle register" has been used since the 1900s...and possibly even before.

  • Nope, because I was specifically referring to Jessica's placement in relation to Georgia's, as I just described to you. You really still don't get it?? There are GUYS that can sing high up into the whistle register. You don't need to even be a female for that, much less a soprano! Just type in "male whistle register" on here. You will see plenty of males singing almost as high as Mariah Carey! Whistle register is not a legitimate register, it is completely DISCONNECTED.

  • @CalJennings I'm referring to a SOPRANO's placement, like Jessica. & nope, whistle register has been around for aaaaaages, way before Wikipedia was even founded. Nice try though. Wow, can you be any more ignorant? Georgia Brown may have a super-high whistle register, but her CHEST VOICE is extremely limited. Same with Betty Wright! They are not sopranos. Jessica is. So for them, those high whistle notes come more easily than the BELTED high notes that Jessica uses.

  • @mellynumerounoo No, you're being an idiot and you're being rude as well. You can't say that anything above a certain note is in falsetto because vocal cords are different on different people. One person can sing higher than the next without going into falsetto and if you were as knowledgeable as you're pretending to be, you'd know that. "Whistle Register" is a word that was made up by the writers of Wikipedia.

  • @CalJennings You're an idiot. You still can't grasp the simple concept that "high notes" exist in accordance with the REGISTER they were executed in. Anything above a high E (an octave above middle C) in CHEST/FULL VOICE is high. Now, is that high for FALSETTO, or head voice, or WHISTLE REGISTER? Of course not! But it's fair to say that a HIGHER note in one of those registers (say, in the 6th octave, which is 2 octaves above middle c) generally takes less effort on the part of the singer.

  • @mellynumerounoo I think you need to redefine your definition of "high notes."

  • @CalJennings My God, are you fucking dense or something?? I'm trying to explain to you that Georgia Brown hits her notes in an ENTIRELY different register! No one hits G10 in the register that Jessica is using in this video. Georgia can barely get out an E5 in this register! Do you not understand that???

  • @mellynumerounoo Sorry, but you're the one embarrassing yourself. Georgia Brown was listed in the 2005 Guinness World Records for hitting the highest vocal note and for possessing the greatest range, claimed to be exactly 8 octaves from G2-G10 using scientific pitch notation.

  • @CalJennings Please stop embarrassing yourself. I know more about vocal anatomy, music theory, and vocal pedagogy than you will EVER know. Once again, Georgia Brown is an example of some1 that "sings" high using WHISTLE register. The high notes in this video are in CHEST voice. Whistle register makes it EASIER to reach super-high notes. Same with head voice/falsetto. A high E in head voice, for example, is a piece of cake. In CHEST VOICE tho, it is difficult.
