ReptilesTV and experts from the reptile industry respond to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued Notice of Inquiry (NOI) for economical and biological information regarding constrictors of the genera Boa, Python and Eunectes. This request is interpreted by many to be a USFWS proposal that would classify snakes in these genera as injurious wildlife, which could then lead to a ban on their importation and interstate transportation.

Reptile enthusiasts are taking immediate action.

  • Under the best care, boas and pythons have gotten respitory infections and died. There is no way they could survive anywhere in the US outside of the Florida Everglades. Thanks to the idiots who have released their snakes in the wilds of Florida. It is sad that the animals that were released will no longer receive the proper care that their owners should have given them. How bout manditory micro-chips for large boids with fines to owners of released or escaped animals.

  • I am SO hoping they ban um...Sick to death of live feeding.

  • Bans all suck

severly punish offenders that hurt animals

and people with a brain stick up for them vs the over empathetic that wanna save tortured ants by outlawing magnifying glasses to kids

  • i say go protest in the wild where it goes on the most

people poison rodents all the time yet i do not see you protesting the loike of orkin etc.

i have had animals my whole life and am never cruel yet i am intellegent enough to know the difference between nature and torture

so please don't cast stones from a gravel drive

  • Why? They were here before you. You sound like someone who would move to a house right by an air port and then complain about the noise.

  • i love pythons

  • Some cultures have been known to eat humans. Horse meat is big in Japan, France, etc. Do I want to see this crap when I search for videos, of live feeding? The morons who post these have grave issues. Anyone who derives pleasure from seeing a creature suffer is very sadistic.

What is I posted a video where a snake was cut up, while still live? For all of you that love the death twitch, may you come back as the prey... (If only there was that much justice.)

  • What is all the fuss? Killing animals is our way, right? Like the time I hatcheted up a snake, because it threatened my begonias. Or the time I watched in delight as the nieghbor shot a dog for barking at a horse.

    That is our nature, right?

B.S. Nature is when a snake in the wild, stalks and captures it's prey. Or a hawk or an owl scoops up a rabbit, mouse, etc. Not when some idiotic punk goes to a store, buys live baby mammals, and puts them into a small cage with a snake, then videos it.

  • Fact is,if you live fed a dog or a cat,you would be charged with ANIMAL ABUSE.

So why is feeding any other pet live to a snake ok?

It's still cruelty and abusive behavior...And posting it for other snake owners to gloat at just shows how much of a kick many owners get out of this.

  • You sick twisted people out there that enjoy watching a innocent animal so viciously murdered should do some soul searching, is this the world you want your kids to grow in? If so then you are the reason why people are being more viciously murdered everyday in the streets of your USA. It starts small then it progressed in humans. So get you head out of the sand, Ban live feeding , ban these videos and ban these snakes!

  • Is say Ban and charge the people who feed live animals to them. The first thing these people say in there own defence is do you eat meat? I say sure but it is dead when I eat it. I wouldn't bite into a live cow now would I?
