  • Haven't seen this episode. Didn't Charles well outlive Henry? Thought he was still married to the girl his son was engaged to when Henry carked i?

  • @enteecee Historically, Henry outlived Charles Brandon... And yes, Charles married Catherine Willoughby who was initally engaged to his son. In the Tudors series, they are still legally married but living apart. The French lady, Brigitte, is a fictional character.

  • This is the first time in a long time that I have felt sorry for King Henry the Eigth. He truly loves Brandon...and he's truly delusional enough to think that he can save him.

  • all he had to do was take his horse over to the nearest pharmacy and get him some antibiotics. There, problem solved. But no, he had to take the whole "by the grace of god" approach....

  • Stop making fun of this! What we see is love. The love of two best friends. The love Henry bore Charles. We might find it ridiculous that he commanded Charles to be healed, but in this time, they maybe believed in it. Maybe not. Maybe, it was just a denial of the truth. Henry mourned his friend, Brigitte mourned her love and Edward Brandon mourned his father. What we see is sorrow and love. You guys shouldn't make fun of it.

  • damm, this rams home your own sense of mortality :/

to think i'l be saying goodbye to my friends in 50 odd years :/

  • Geliebte und gute Freunde bleiben für immer... über den Tod hinaus!

  • Hertford, later the Duke of Somerset, by all intentsand purposes was an absolute shit. It's a shame he would be my 14xgreat grandfather - BEHEADED. Duke of Buckingham (episode 2, series 1) would have been a 15xgreat grandfather - BEHEADED, Thomas 13th Lord Dacre - HANGED, Sir Henry Norrys - BEHEADED - or direct great grandfathers and all met grisly ends. Good thing they had already shot their bolts at my respective grandmothers otherwise I wouldn't be here typing this ...

  • This scene wa perfectly shot, with Henry VIII claiming he had the power to heal Charles. He really did believe that he was more than human; that he really had that power. They purposely showed Charles dying right afterward to show that king or no king, Henry was a human being, and the only thing that made him powerful was his position. I guess you could say it was a real "Haha" in Henry's face.

  • Henry Cavill's acting through all the 4th season is really overwhelming. With a performance so calm, quiet, austere but so internal and full of emotion, he managed something remarcable: He outshined every other actor in the series, including JRM himself. And JRM is a really powerful actor... The more Henry Cavill matures, the gratest actor he becomes. And for such a gorgeus man to be also a great actor... that comes once in every 50 years or so... Expecting great things from you, Henry!! <33

  • i love the horse when charles dies and then the man riding the horse coming for henry. <3 great imagery
