"Striper Islands" takes you into the underwater world of striped bass, false albacore, fluke, tautog, bonito and the many prey items lunker linesiders feed on. You'll visit the best striper habitat on earth and learn the best techniques for taking monster bass. In this trailer you'll see stripers hunting bay anchovies -- all trailer footage shot 9-15-2009.

  • Great video mike. every thursday, i read the projo fishing report.& i read your articles. Great job.

I am also from R.I. we went diving Saturday We went to Brenton reef, Seal rock, Lands end & Point Judith light house. to no avail Stripers, weren't anywhere. a few small schoolies but no cows. we caught a bonita & some large togs. We went from 10 to 45 feet deep.

I will say this, the visibility was absolutely awesome 30+ft.

  • Ouch! The viz was that good...I chalked it up to being far less due to the heavy winds the day before....goes to show... you never know. I covered the rest of the state from Narragansett to Watch Hill -- only a few birds working (I did the trip as a topside reconnaissance) and Deep Hole seemed to be the place with the most action.

  • I'm working on another much longer trailer that includes some monster stripers. Keep a "fish-eye" open for it.
