10 Year Old Girl Tasered - November 24, 2009

Ozark Police Chief Jim Noggle says one of his officers used a Taser on a 10-year-old girl who was combative when the officer tried to get the girl into a patrol car to be taken to a youth shelter.

Noggle said Tuesday that officer Dustin Bradshaw went to the girl's home after her mother called police woman called police.

According to a report filed by Bradshaw on Thursday, the officer found the girl on the floor of the house screaming and crying. She refused to follow her mother's instructions and the mother told Bradshaw to use his Taser.

Bradshaw carried the girl to the living room and told her she was going to jail, according to the report. The girl was violently kicking, the report said, and struck Bradshaw in the groin with her legs and feet.

The report said Bradshaw administered a "very, very brief" stun with the Taser, put the girl in handcuffs and carried her to his patrol car. She was taken to the Western Arkansas Youth Shelter in Cecil.

1. The MOTHER was WRONG for calling the juvenile probation center because her child didn't listen to her, if that woman was smart enough, she would have just hit her with a belt.

2. The JUVENILE PROBATION OFFICER was WRONG for telling the mother to call the police.

Jesus, guys. Whether it's a ten year old or a thirty year old, if the person is fighting an officer and being reckless to the point where powerful blows are being thrown, force will have to be used. The officer is not wrong for doing it. If it were someone older under the exact same situation, you all would be okay with it.

however. she didnt have a weapon... she isnt a 200 pound person who can overpower the officer, shes an 80 pound 10 year old! if she attacked all you need to do is hold her down. and arrest her. NOT TASER
