@pyrocklel The only problem i had with NS1, while it wasn't something you couldn't hurdle over, it was hard to come over. It's learning curve is quite difficult. There is little to no tutorial and you're just thrown into action, surrounded by skilled players.

Does this not use the Source Engine anymore?
Btw, the fact that new style gamers won't be playing this title is a selling feature.

@PhreakStep You havn't watched the other gameplay videos have you or even played the beta? You don't need people to build the structures because there are little builder bots that do it for you so the other marine players can focus on base defense. It may not be the "first" of its kind with marine vs alien game play but it was the first that I had found that required base building.

@BarerRudeROC Very true, and you could pass through very thin walls. :D
I think there's some obvious inspiration from Starcraft in some ways (one of the aliens kept making me think "zerg-infested hippo") but it's way too unique to call it a "rip-off" of anything.
I love the idea of being able to play as what is traditionally the antagonist. Dungeon Keeper games hooked me on to that idea, and I play Zerg in SC2. To me, playing a game as a stealthy, subversive, and relentless alien hunter is a lot more attractive than a straight-up shooter, though I can enjoy both,

Gameplay over graphics. I still play NS1 to this day, what these CoD fanboys dont understand is something called teamwork in a game. NS1 is fun as hell because its a real team based game, you dont support and work with your team you lose, plain and simple. Its way more fun when everyone in a game actually communicates with one another.
