This video depicts the discovery and exhumation of three German SS soldiers by a farmer in Burcy, Normandy. The bodies were exhumed on February 8th 2008, along with a helmet, some belt buckles and other military equipments. Unfortunately no dog tags were found, so the bodies will almost certainly remain unidentified. However, a medical doctor present at the exhumation said that by looking at the condition of the teeth, it appeared that one of the men was "very young", and the other two were older then 30. All three bodies apparently belonged to men of the Hohenstaufen division, who were killed in combat between August 3rd and 10th 1944 when fighting British soldiers of the 11th Armored divison.
The three bodies were reburied in the La Cambe cemetery, in Normandy.
About 10 bodies from WW2 are discovered every year in Normandy.

  • Before we go pointing the finger too 'holier than them', let's also remember that the west was all-too happy to get into bed with Stalin to fight Hitler in the early 40's, after his government had murdered over 20 million people of its own - 20 years before WW2 started. Moral supremacy can be very self-selective, don't you think? I judge none of these men, but respect them and prefer to focus on my moral responsibilities in the here and now.

  • This People in that film at begining have respect....they make a silent minute for these soldiers...german soldiers.....and what i hear they are french people...human french people

  • @centuriontaxi That's funny, made me crack up cause I haven't heard that ( TWAT) for awhile.

  • may all the soldiers, fighting for their country, either allied or axies, rest in peace....you will be never forget...thanx to the people searching to identify the soldiers for their families...still missing 3 of my grandma´s brothers, greez from austria, peace

  • I agree with TagManpants and all the other rational and open minded posts. Every nation claims moral supremacy to achieve it's goals. I'm proud to be an American(most of the time) and of German descent but I realize during our revolution we were the terrorists and during Vietnam we were fighting the 'Freedom Fighters' that wanted to reunite their country after years of colonial rule and intervention. History is convoluted like some epic soap opera. Great vid, thank you, merci und danke.

  • @Falke40lg awesome point.

  • The War made no sense anyway. It supposedly began on Sept 1, 1939 when Britain and France declared war on Germany for invading Poland. Ok, got that.... but the Russians also invaded Poland from the other side and split the spoils with the Germans. Britain and France didn't declare war on the USSR. So, apparently Poland getting invaded wasn't the real reason for declaring war after all.

  • @miket1m Not in the least. Interesting comment though - what made you come to that conclusion, if you don't mind me asking?

  • @centuriontaxi My life has had nothing to do with Hollywood. Being born in 1940 in Eastern Pomerania put me into the right age bracket for TV and print journalistic work at the time of the Vietnam war. I don't think that my life is anything particularly interesting or adventurous. Fortunately my higher education allowed me to professional work with much travel world wide. (Mostly boring.) To repeat. Waffen SS in black uniforms with silver bits in battle. Pure fantasy!,

  • @historatia What a life you have had................ sounds like something from Hollywood. I think i have seen the film HA HA. And you say i make things up. Royal Welch Fusiliers 14824722................that was his reg and number. Its tattooed on my arm. So only one more word to say to you my bullshiting friend.......NUTS!!!. And you will know that from war history .

  • @gtafrlife27 Fucking SS killed anyone. They weren't like the regular German soldier. Nasty bastards they were.

  • @TagManpants You have to be an asian right?
