Cone-beam CT scanner provides clear 3-D images of teeth.Dentist/orthodontists using to lure patients(children/teenagers) who need braces.Not uncommon
for teens to receive 1-4 cone-beam CT scans during course of orthodontic treatment.Problem with these scans is they subject you to100's times more radiation than conventional X-rays.There's no proof that risk is worthwhile.Orthodontists
can use simple digital camera image.Requires no radiation to get many of same images.Just takes a bit longer.
