@tpvalley yes this is the M51D25 engine. used in bmw opel and range rover for allmost ten years. this engine is a milestone for automotive diesels. i have this engine, easy to repair/maintain, ok milage. easy to tune. i just like it, either this or a petrol engine for me ;)

@Elhock yes they are. allmost no limit for tuning. lack of maintenance may break down any engine.

u know most bosch pumps have same mounting pattern?

if u could get a pump off a volvo 2.4 diesel?

wrong cam ring but it would work.

probably a Bosch pump.

have u been using veg oil by any chance as that can kill earlier seals.

there is a good article on bosch VE pump rebuild in the vw forum somewhere.

@tpvalley not sure....but i suspect i spoke too soon...mine has just developed a diesel pump leak, so it's very possible that they are shit after all!

I just know they were replaced in the range rover due to blowing up a lot, or was that a different engine?

I almost bought an omega but this put me off; if you are correct then thats a pisser as it was cheap and mint.........spunk.

is this engine difficult to fit in a boat is there much electronics ie tpps air temps coded ignition keys etc im looking ot fit 2 of these to my boat are these a good choice or is there a beter potion cheers

nice, but not the most reliable diesel ever made by a long way!!

they are an evolution of a bmw petrol engine.
