Bikes: Street legalized 2000 and 2001 Honda XR650R dirt bikes with E-Line Dual Sport Kits. One bike was lowered by altering the internals of the suspension, front and rear. Tires were Maxxis 6006 to start and then switched to used knobbies found (free) at motorcycle shops along the way when originals needed replacing (why do they use 17" rear on the KLR and others?).
Main jet is 125 stock changed to 120 for high altitude, still too rich (dark plug), will try 118 next time.
Awesome 3 vids! You must be so proud of your daughter and the trip looked amazing! How did you manage fuel and navigation? I see the bigger Ascerbis tanks but how did you manage to hit fuel stops when you were mostly off-road? Great job of editing - thanks for your hard work and sharing...

Thanks,
The female rider in the video is my wife and she thanks you. Proud of her? For many reasons, particularly when she brings me coffee in the shop. The route is conducive to fueling - it comes close enough to towns along the way that you can duck out and get gas. The Acerbis tank gave almost a 300km range on the XR and the Clarke tank about 250.

Here's the source for route maps:
Google this 'Great Divide Mountain Bike Route'
More useful links:
Go to Wikihow and type in 'Ride-Your-Motorcycle-Down-the-Continental-Divide'
Also: adventurecycling dot o r g /routes/greatdivide.cfm
The vids are a little long for public consumption, they were really intended for family - I should shorten them.
Glad you liked it, maybe we'll see you out there sometime.
