Jolyn has indeed experience a miracle of healing. From stage 4 breast cancer which metastasized to advance stage secondary bone cancer. If you will just research on the ordeal of secondary bone cancer patients, you will realize how difficult and painful this disease can be. Patients with far less lesions on their bones can no longer move or if they do are in great pain. Most people with this disease only find relief through morphine based drugs. Looking at the PET/CT scan of Jolyn, her bone lesions are spread from her skull all the way down to her legs with most concentration on her pelvic area.
As an analogy, bone cancer lesions are like rust building up in steel. They slowly chip away the bone. She underwent chemo treatment during the breast cancer stage and 2 years after another round of chemo for the metastasis to the bone. She was given the best (not to mention most expensive) chemo treatment for her bone cancer. She had to relive the horrible side effects of chemo which are hair-loss, nausea, darkening and drying of the skin, loss of appetite and so on. A month after her last chemo cycle we had the PET scan to check on the status of the lesions. We were so disheartened to find out that the whole chemo treatment did not even improve her condition one bit. As in 0% improvement. Even our oncologist could not believe the results.
With such disappointing news and the lingering pain that she constantly bears one would think that she would be giving up on life. But not Jolyn. She is a fighter. She is steadfast and resolve that God has a plan for her and will heal her completely. Early May last month, a college friend of mine invited us to attend a christian healing worship at Church So Blessed in Quezon City (near GMA 7). Jolyn struggled going to church as her whole body was aching. When the pastor asked the sick to come forward for healing, Jolyn had to even cling on me to help her move forward. Several ministers of the church went around her to pray for her including myself. As the prayer started Jolyn got slayed (or lay down) and as everyone was praying for her healing she remarked that she could feel a cold or even tingling sensation down her spine and at that same instant she felt relief of all the pain in her body. She got up on her feet with minimal assistance and was claiming that her pain disappeared. At this point we were all in tears. Jolyn is totally convinced that this was the promise of God to her fulfilled. At first I could not help but question "could it just be adrenalin rush?". But it's been more than a month now since that time and she is still up and about on her own. She is even back to driving around again and going to the mall.
So why did God allow healing for Jolyn? I personally believe it was her abundantly strong faith that God will heal her no matter what. She had no doubt in her mind that God will use her to testify to his greatness. And this is exactly what she is doing now. She has been testifying to so many friends, relatives and even strangers about her experience. She had the chance to testify in the 700 Club Asia. The following video is a clip taken from that show.
I hope this will inspire as well as give hope to others to keep their strong faith in the Lord. Believe that nothing is impossible with the Lord!
