Miles didn't lose his voice because of drugs. It's in his book-- he had a problem with his vocal chords and the doctor told he to rest them for a couple of weeks. But later that day, he got in an argument with a manager or someone and he yelled at them.
That yelling ruined his vocal chords forever.
Yes he used drugs, but that's not why his voice was reduced to a whisper. And as you can hear, there was nothing wrong with his lungs.

I think that Miles was just saying that he got the same feeling that Marcus got but dealt with it in a different way.

...erm....no he's definately a prick....even if he can blow thru a pipe particularly well. You can tell from old clips that he (and Dylan) is (are) definately very rude, very early in their career. It's not just because he's been around a while. It's ok folks...you ARE allowed to not be mesmerised by musicians when they aren't performing. They have a hole in their arse too

I think at a certain point in your career you deserve to be a little arrogant. He had had the skills to back it up.

@thatblokefella sorry, that should read: arrogant pr*ck

I'll agree with all of you that Miles is an amazing musician BUT I don't mind sticking my neck out and asking if anyone else thinks that he comes across like an arrogent pr*ck?
Bob Dylan does too.
