Cow dung is being preserved and transformed into a biological gas as a useful source of energy for households. The left-over excess can be used to nourish fertilizer, trees or plants. The idea of producing a biological nourishing fertilizer came from a community of cow-herds in Phuket; they studied the development process and used earthen jars to preserve gas inside.
The procedure is quite simple; starting from filling 30kg of cow dung into a 2000 litre capacity earthen jar then mixing it with water, equivalent to the cow dung amount, and then burying it underground. They leave it for 25-30 days and by so doing, it will cause a chemical reaction. Once the gas is ready, it is transferred through a pipe which then transfers to cooking stoves in households for cooking purposes. Maitree Cheevatarnnakorn, Animal Scientist, told us more:
We use an earthen jar as container and it is also not expensive: the investment cost less than 10,000 baht. The natural gas from the excrement causes global warming, but if we make the use of it by turning it into a biological gas, then we can help reduce the global warming effects.
Biological gas that is created by preserving cow dung, is also made into substitute gas use for motorcycles, as we showed on Andaman News last year (look on http://thainews.prd.go.th/newsenglish/previewnews2.php?news_id=380 or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jokqG1fTc-I). Chaiyawuth Silapasamosorn, agriculturist and member of a cow farmers group has transformed the gas and motorbike carburetor to acquire fuel or pwer from cow dung, to help reduce household expenses by 6000 baht per month. Chaiyawuth Silapasamosorn, an agriculturist from the cowherd explained more:
Every morning, my family and I will come in to drink coffee that is produced by the cooking gas from cow dung. I also use the cow dung biological gas for my motorcycle, it helps save 4000-5000 baht a month.
By using biological gas as an energy replacement, not only shows a new tactic idea of saving costs but also follows HM The Kings footpath in living a sustainable lifestyle by using raw materials to build a better quality of product and gain full advantage from it. This is Zenniesha, reporting for Andaman News.

  • Converting dung into fuel has been both used for centuries and oppressed for centuries.

Governments control and tax the masses by the supposed high cost of energy and the false threat of lack of energy.

Our founders (and people today in remote parts of the world) live off of dung, hemp, and other easy to find things.

We absolutely do not need the government. It needs us...thus, it fools us into thinkning we need them.

  • WONDERLUL ! GREAT ! SWEET ! pls. teach us how can i run my motorbike with biogas... i made a small scall in our house , a pig DUNG... hope you can help me.... thank you ang GOD bless U....

  • .. Amzing, can you please direct me who to contact about how Biogas is supplied to a motorcycle's carburator? Thanks. LEO
