Well done. One of the best recreations I've seen
-
Dude you did an incredible job there... Hats off
-
@jbstuf originally I believe Eddie said that he used Schwinn bicycle paint from a rattle can, thats what he said in a Guitar Player magazine interview from back around 1986 , but from the looks of it whatever you used worked perfectly , very nice job there

opening of mean streets! and will you build other custom Frankenstrats and sell em/?
-
@iplayguitarhero1 you should sell it to some fool on ebay ;)
-
I have a 1971 quarter. I got it out of a vending machine! But no frankenstrat to install it on =[
-
@pinotman01 im slowly collecting the right parts to build a second frankenstrat.i have a 71 quarter,reflectors and neck pickup so far.
Wow!!! I just re-watched the video and noticed you even used the original reflectors with the honey- and square-patterns!!! Holy shit man!!! You really did an outstanding job with this, as pretty much nobody knows about this! Most people believe the ones Fender used are the real ones...(0__0)'

@megatroll thanks man, i built this guitar before fender did their thing, i didnt even have the internet at the time.i had no idea so many people did this.
a good freind of mine gave me those reflectores, he sells them on ebay and has built a couple frankies,he's the frankenstrat king.

@jbstuf
*LOL* the fact you built this thing without even having the Fender as a template or anything makes it even more outstanding!! By the way, I wouldn't mind you pointing me to your friend's eBay shop because the reflectors are the last part I need to finish my Frankie. ;)

This is probably the most well done replica on Youtube! :D
I'm currently working on my Frankie (had to delay my project because the neighborhood kids stole my Floyd Rose while I let it sit in the sun on my balcony) Could you please tell me what exact paint you used for the red layer? It looks totally like the original. I screwed up my first try and had to trash the body because I used duplicolor acrylic paint, which gets a consistency like rubber once it dries out... :P
