You're right, perhaps Hannett used too much reverb in BIH's first album, but you can't deny Hannett's version of 'Across My Heart' is A THOUSAND times better than the Hugh Jones' one.

All the gods' men is a masterpiece and one of my favourites of the 80's along with
Explicit Material. Saw these guys supporting the Damned circa 86 and was
TOTALLY blown away by them. Fantastic band.

yeah, that single is not great,. I forgot to mention "Sometimes" from the first album which is a great track and maybe should have been a single.

I love Hannett with Joy Division but i think he destroyed BIH's first album with the exception of Like A Child
