This video is Part 9 of a long series of videos in which I build a guitar as a Christmas gift for my beautiful wife, Erin. This is my first attempt at building a guitar, so go easy on the comments. Also, if you happen to bump into my wife, don't spoil the surprise!

  • What is that scraper tool called?

  • @TheGrandDesign999 It's called... wait for it... a scraper :) Although technically called a Cabinet Scraper, everyone just refers to them as scrapers. They come in all shapes and sizes, from flat to really curvy.

  • and thats why i allways route the binding channel without the neck on, then sand it flat, and check the fretboard extention to see how it sits. Very nice craftsmanship tho

  • @TheGrandDesign999 made from spring-steel you can get the factory made scrapers but a piece of a big band saw does exactly the same most of the time there even better then the factory made scrapers

  • 1:03 precisely why I shall never mess with binding

  • and if there is a s[ot where its visable sand the top take the sawdust mix it with some clear epoxy and let it dry in the spot

  • A friend of mine broke my guitar bridge. I can get the string in the market from here but i cannot find a bridge..... :(

  • Just noticed the Scott rags in a Box at 2:30 . Greatest things in the world!

Tough, absorbant, soft as all get out... wonderful product.
