The Real News CEO and Founder Paul Jay interview at NCMR07

For six years, Paul Jay was the executive producer of counterSpin on CBC Newsworld. In 1998 he decided to start a news channel, Independent World Television and he is now working on a program called The Real News.

The Real News is the flagship program of the IWT and here Canadian Paul Jay talks about how it will be produced.

He has been making long-form documentaries for over twenty years. His recent feature was made in Afghanistan, a film called "Return to Kandahar."

Jay is the founding chair of Hot Docs!, the Canadian international documentary film festival.

I would be shocked if you made it through the first five minutes of any of his documentaries? Oh wait, actually, I bet you watched the WWF documentary, after all, it seems that you enjoy gross generalizations of hyper-simplistic situations like those presented in WWF. Stick to the material in the interview, and back your info up.

This guy is like Joe Flaherty from Second City TV, except Flaherty knows he supposed to be acting like a clown.

The Kandahar "Documentary" was actually fake, which he doesn't even mention.

Ultimately, as a Marxist, Jay CANNOT be straight with his viewers because he knows his channel will be rejected. But its is absolutely HILARIOUS he pretends to be "unbiased" and "independent." Childish pseudo-honesty.

Yes, its a little uncool how some news is so over simplified & full of opinion statements. If you can't get the both sides stories with equal air time then I am not buying your story. It seems like sometimes the intelligence of an educated Canadian citizen is being discounted. Paul you rock!
