Chicago has lost a giant and a icon in radio. :-(

I just heard Herb Kent play this this past Sunday and can't get it out of my mind. The refrain is timeless. Love it.

I was stunned he passed away too. Back in the 80's, mom and I liked his "Sleazy Slimy Scandal Reports". This song brings back memories. Is Sharon still alive?

This was Richard Pegue's Theme song for many years...I've been looking for this for years now....

Yes, I believe I was 16 when Richard Pegue would open his radio show with this song. Almost 30 years had passed before I was finally able to add it to my collection.

Thank you Thank you Thank you. I am a Chicagoan to the bone (actually I spend winters in FL) but I am excited that I can hear this song that I'd play when I was DJing for the more mature set. This girl should have been a star. What happened to her, do you know? I am so glad I came hear songs from my albums while I stay warm. Thanks again for the posting!

Thanks for your comment. I too am an ex-Chicagoan transplated to ARK. Ms. Ridley should've received far more recognition than she did. This almost 40 y/o song has left quite an impression on lots of folks, thanks Richard Pegue who used to open his dusties radio show back in the 70's with it. Interestingly, Ms. Ridley's daughter commented on this post just before you did, so I believe Ms. Ridley is still alive and well. I sent kudos through her. Peace & continued warmth to you:-)
