Great. Freedom is now dying faster. I just can't understand how pragmatism does any good for anyone. What good is a centrist? Let's say we have someone who supports true freedom, and someone who supports a socialist/communist government, and now you have this rag bill. Now this is what you're going to have: Well, I like freedom, but I also like communism. Hell, one day I can be a libertarian the next a communist. Great. Fuck you Arnold, centrists, and California.

@bwc3821, I'm with you on this. My votes have always been cast in opposition to the two major parties. They never put forth anyone I would want in office. Now my choice to vote my conscious has been taken away. There is no reason for me to even bother voting anymore. This shit makes me physically ill.

Prop 14 passed. I've usually voted third party, knowing full well that my guy would lose every damn time, but I wanted to try and make my voice heard. California has just willfully told me they don't want to hear it anymore.
I'm done with this farce.

@ElectAdrianGalysh - Democrats want to balance the budget by raising taxes. The problem is, it takes a 50% majority to pass spending, while it takes 67% to raise taxes. It's easier to raise spending than taxes. Just like how it's easier to get a credit card than it is to get a raise at work :)

Prop 14 supporters have knowingly or unknowingly drank the Corporate coolaide. This is nothing more than a shell game to confuse voters into supporting pro corporate canidates that desire not nothing more than to repay a pro 14 vote with yet another kick in the ass to the middle class workers. Wake up don't let these liers build thier fortunes on your back. this is class warfare of the rich against the middle class and poor.

Check out the cheesy and funny "The Prop. 14 Deception" video. It's as wacky as the demon sheep ads.

@CBlargh
Fair? Sounds as if only the RICHEST candidates and incumbents will be the "Top Two" and thats what we ALREADY have..... How about we don't have any primaries, and all the the political parties and independents choose their own nominees?
How can bullying independents and 3rd parties out of the general election possibly ensure that "entrenched parties don't wield more power than they should"? How does eliminating voter's choices on the General Election "Maximize voter choice"?

-No party has the right to be on a ballot. Parties don't have rights, people have rights!
-If a party can't convince enough people to vote for its candidate to reach one of the top 2 slots, it doesn't have a platform which resonates with the people, and doesn't deserve to represent the electorate.
-I find prop 14 to be an appropriate, simple, and fair method to ensure that entrenched parties don't wield more power than they should, and to maximise voter choice.
-It's long overdue.
