Tyrian ENGAGE Mode: Final Stage

Last stage of Tyrian ENGAGE mode.
Rather simple stage, only annoying thing is that some bullets hurt a lot and are hard to dodge. I use mouse control here because I need the maneuverability badly. Also I stop using the main weapon during the boss fight to make it a little more interesting. Otherwise the boss would die before it would even get a chance to attack.
Difficulty: ENGAGE
Game Speed: Normal

Note: You get the Xmas mode as reward for beating ENGAGE, I thought I'd record how it's done here but unfortunately Fraps crashes when dosbox goes back to dos. So here's how it's done:
C:\Tyrian\File0001 yesxmas in MSDOS and the game will run on Christmas mode.
It's pretty hilarious and definately worth checking. I think it triggers during 24th of December as well.

ps. Sound quality is pretty shitty in this video for some reason so I'm sorry for that.

This is my first time seeing this game. This game is ok. The thing that makes this game shitty is that the weapons on your ship isnt even strong enough to kill any of the enemies. You have to hit the small enemies like 30 times before they die.

Really? The game is propably the most well known shmup in the west, I really suggest you try it out (it's freeware these days so you should be able to find it first hit on google). Tyrian has more game modes, levels and ship equips than any other shmup I've seen.

This is the ENGAGE mode which means you get the worst ship equipments possible and no possibility of upgrading your ship plus Lord Of The game difficulty. On normal difficulties and with decent equipments that won't become a problem.

Shouldn't you have received the code for the NortShipZ upon finishing the Engage Mode?

Anyway, Engage mode was so difficult... Some levels were hell.

Botany B, Station (episode 5), New Deli, Coral, the Bonus from episode 3, and a few others.

The bosses are a challenge here, when usually, they're more of pushovers.

I've comleted the ENGAGE mode last summer. That CORAL level, OMG. However I was able to maintain 9 lives till the last level. :) I was so happy when i finally beat the game and thought that I'm gonna get the password for the Nortship. Guess what I got... (TECHNO)
