The nagma is in the raag Charukeshi which is a serious / sad / crying / introspective / nostalgic kind of raag. It surely adds its own effect to the overall thing.
I have heard the sound of tabla since my childhood, but Zakir's sound is very different somehow, regardless of the type of tabla (small, big) he is playing - truly a gifted person.
