Yeah, i think ur right about that. But y did she get rivals instead of Ash? I don't understand y that season was so focused on her.

if i happen to think of anymore trainers later from hoenn who could be ash's rivals i'll list them as well

but you know

they could've been focusing of may's annoyance levels in the hoenn and battle fronteir seasons

hmm..you could consider max as a future rival from the hoenn region i guess

and there was also morrison..he was the trainer with the beldum
