Elizabeth Montgomery was one of the most charismatic perfomers to ever grace a screen. She had a rare presence that made her audiences feel as if they had known her all of their lives.
Elizabeth Montgomery came into this world on April 15, 1933. She was born into an acting family, with both her father (Robert) and mother (Elizabeth) achieving notable success in show business.
Elizabeth will always be best known for her role as Samantha Stephens on the phenomenally successful T.V. series "Bewitched". She was however, capable of portraying so many more characters than Samantha (and Serena:). She was an accomplished actress who had proven her abilities long before her series began.
Elizabeth debuted on her father Robert Montgomery's television show in 1951. She quickly followed that debut with many more roles in theatre, television and movies, earning theatre awards and Emmy nominations along the way.
In 1964, Elizabeth's then-husband William Asher developed a series for his beautiful wife. "Bewitched" quickly caught the imagination of the viewing public, and remained on the air until 1972.
Despite cast changes, and Elizabeth's growing weariness with the confines of the role, "Bewitched" became a television classic and made Elizabeth Montgomery a household name. She was nominated for an Emmy five times for her role of Samantha.
When "Bewitched" had run its course, some fans were surprised to see Elizabeth in many dramatic roles on television. She demonstrated her dramatic range in such well-received television movies as "A Case of Rape" (1974), "The Legend of Lizzie Borden" (1975), "Black Widow Murders" (1993), "The Corpse Had a Familiar Face" (1994), and "Deadline For Murder" (1995).
Elizabeth Montgomery died of cancer in 1995, at the age of sixty-two. She will always be remembered as a wonderful actress, but she was also a tireless humanitarian, working for such causes as AIDS research and gay rights.
Elizabeth Montgomery's gifts were undeniably unique and special. Her talent and courage will never be forgotten.

The music I have used to accompany my tribute to Elizabeth Montgomery is the beautiful "Almost a Whisper" by Yanni. The music actually fades out to "almost a whisper", so stay with the video until the end.
The track seemed somehow perfect for a tribute to a wonderful actress who left this earth way too early. I hope you agree.

I felt like I knew her also. Not too long after she died I had a dream about her that I met her in a parking lot and I mainly said to her that meeting her just reminded me that bewittched was on soon. Even though it was just a dreem I still wish that I had talked to her more.
