August 1, 1944 at 5:00 p.m. the uprising was scheduled to be launched. The Poles were outnumbered by the Nazis in numbers as well as military equipment, but the Poles proved to be a formidable force to the Nazis. It was the fiercest of battles that raged for 63 days in which the Poles faced a powerful enemy alone - no military assistance was provided to the Home Army by the Allies, other than a few air drops of weapons, medecines, and food - but many of them fell into enemy hands...
The Poles fought courageously to the very end - betrayed by its friends, and conquered by its enemies.

Poland defeated the Turks in the 1500s and kept them from invading the rest of Europe.

Poland defeated the Soviets in the Polish-Soviet war and kept Lenin from overrunning post world war 1 Europe.

And ever single time Poland gets conquered they come back, even if its a hundred years later.
