  • This has New York written all over it, especially Count Basie's New York. It's his style & arrangements & if not him then certainly band members. Much like Detroit's Snake Pit, musicians worked wherever they could. What's really interesting is that no musician stands out - there is no solo of note, deffo not one in a recognisable style, although Coleman Hawkins comes slightly to mind (!). That also hints at a session job.

  • hi @lomarecords - Your definately on the right track, here's a clue: it's the "somebody somebody BAND" and his intials are 'R.S' , I think he's more associated with jazz but has done lots of diff styles. Been looking at your videos too Loma and enjoyed the variety. Regards from the UK Rob.
